Explosion-Proof Fluid Heater Helps Reduce Costs of Manufacturing Marine Distress Signals Chemring Marine Ltd, the specialist manufacturer of marine distress signals, has installed an Intertec explosion-proof smart fluid heater to help reduce process costs at its production facility in Bremerhaven, Germany. The Intertec unit works in series with the company's existing fluid heater system, and is used to boost the temperature of a flushing agent used in the manufacture of marine distress flares, immediately prior to use. The pre-existing single-stage heating system demanded that a relatively large volume of flushing agent was maintained permanently at exactly the right temperature, resulting in very high operational costs.
